Numerical Evaluation of ElectroMagnetic Effects for Different Types of Shield Connection

This article describes a numerical evaluation of the electromagnetic (EM) effects for different types of shielding connection based on the transmission line formalism. Previous work on EWIS (Electrical Wiring InterConnect System) has highlighted the influence of different shielding connections on the stresses induced in internal conductors, and more particularly the importance of fully modeling pigtails as transmission lines, considered as sensors of the incident EM field and likely to couple with internal conductors.
